You need to port forward if you start a dedicated server, but if you guy's all play at the same time, only one of you can start a peer to peer server directly in game. If I don't use Hamachi, I'll still have to port forward, right? We've had a ton of issue with port forwarding in the past, that's why we went to Hamachi. If you find ping is the issue, then there are tests you can run to find out in more detail the problem. Running released AAA game X well means about nothing when it comes to running EA Alpha games. You can check the ping for yourself and everyone on the server.so you can get an accurate understanding of who is lagging and by how much. Just have someone start a game with EAC off and have everyone else join from steam. ![]() Originally posted by Mytheos:Dont use Hamachi, not sure why you even would? This is a long term problem that we've been dealing with for a while, and if anyone could offer advice, it would be much appreciated. Strangely enough, the game works for longer when we play on Navezgane as opposed to randomgen. This problem is clearly connectivity related. We don't have fps lag, all of our rigs can run stuff like SWBF close to if not maxed. Relogging seems to fix this issue, but when you're spending more time connecting than playing the game, it's not much fun. Everything works great for a few minutes, and then suddenly nobody but the host is able to search loot, see zombies, place blocks ect. We've tried mixing up who the host is, but no matter who's hosting, the issue persists. I myself don't ever have any lag, but my friends who join my server via Hamachi always seem to lag. Since the overhaul of the zombies and game mechanics, our lag issues have become unbearable. You'll get a lot farther than you will by raising zombie threads.I love playing 7DtD with my friends on my private server, but we've always been plagued with lag issues. Might try reading the Pinned threads in the Support forum section. also, my brother, who lives in the same house as me, does not seem to experience this lag when connected to the host's game, although he has an ethernet cable whereas I do not You don't because it hasn't existed in the game for a couple of years. The host of the server lives in a different state then me, but we're both on the east coast. also, my brother, who lives in the same house as me, does not seem to experience this lag when connected to the host's game, although he has an ethernet cable whereas I do not ![]() ![]() Also, at the same time the games lags, my discord also lags and i cant hear people for about 10 seconds, which coincidentally is how long it lags in game before i can open a chest or before the zombie stops walking in place and hits me like 5 times super fast bc of lag. ![]() Im not the host, and we're playing with around 7 or 8 people, but I'm the only one with this problem. You probably wont see this, but ill ask anyways, how do I disable UNET? I cant find it in the launcher settings I have the same problem when playing with friends, but im the only one experiencing the lag. Too much to handle for one PC unless it's a freaking beast, but even then. If it's a SurvivalMP map, it's not the case of a double instance (unlike hosting a Dedicated Server and playing on the host PC), but make sure you have a little over the recommended specs nonetheless - especially in the RAM part.Īs for hosting a Dedicated Server - never on the same machine that you play from.
